“Exposure 2012” at the Photographic Resource Center, Boston

David has been chosen by juror Alison Nordstrom, Curator of Photographs and Director of Exhibitions at George Eastman House, to show a selection of images from Nurturing Time, Life in a Backyard Garden at the Photographic Resource Center in Boston (PRC).  “Exposure 2012” will feature ten artists, and be on view from June 5 to July 18, 2012.

The PRC received 270 submissions this year, a record-breaking number of entries for its annual juried competition.  David will be showing his work with: Mary Ellen Bartley, Thomas Brennan, Nan Brown, Odette England, Tony Loreti, Mark Lyon, Robert Moran, Garie Waltzer, and Diana Zlatanovski.

For a second consecutive year, a jury of two dozen members of the photography community from across the US has selected David as a Finalist in the annual competition Critical Mass, organized by Photolucida. More than 200 international photography professionals will review David’s series Nurturing Time, Life in a Backyard Garden as part of the second round of judging. Photolucida received more than 700 entries for this year’s competition, the largest number of participants yet for Critical Mass.

David has been invited to participate in an online Holiday Emerging Artist’s Auction presented by Daniel Cooney Fine Art in NYC and iGavel. The auction will include Gazania Tangle from the series Nurturing Time among thirty-one works offered by participating artists from throughout the country. The auction will be online from November 23 to December 16, 2010.

SPECTRA 2010 National Photography Triennial will feature a print from Nurturing Time at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan, Connecticut. Juror Brian Paul Clamp, owner of ClampArt in NYC, selected Oranges and Stones to be part of the group show, which runs from November 14 to December 23, 2010.

Corden|Potts Gallery in San Francisco will show Untitled (Dome) from Transform/Transcend in the group exhibition Home for the Holidays, from December 1, 2009 to January 2, 2010.

David has been invited to the Lishui International Photography Festival in Lishui, China to exhibit Nurturing Time in a solo exhibition. The series will be presented in the context of an exhibition that features the work of invited North American photographers, organized by Beijing-based curator, Wang Zheng.

The festival is a biannual event located in Zhejiang Province, south of Shanghai in Eastern China, which brings together photographers, curators, gallerists and publishers from China, Europe and North America. The festival runs from November 28 to December 2, 2009.
